The free evening featured songs that were cut from the 2013-14 season of musicals, including The Bridges of Madison County, If/Then and Rocky. Writers Jason Robert Brown, Tom Kitt, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty offered commentary and performances of the songs.

In addition to unheard songs, the writers also revealed details of their writing process. Jason Robert Brown explains the various endings to Bridges, which at one point followed the structure of the original book; while Kitt and Yorkey shared details of a storyline that never made it to the stage in If/Then.

The NYPL has released the complete audio from the evening that includes the song "Sometimes a Loser Can Win" from Rocky performed by Flaherty; Elena Shaddow performing "You've Moved On," cut from The Bridges of Madison County; "Cold, Cold, City," cut from If/Then, peformed by Kitt.
