The Engeman Theatre production of Little Shop of Horrors, featuring Josh Lamon, Gina Milo and a bloody-thirsty plant from outer space, begins performances Oct. 2.

Stephen DeAngelis directs and choreographs the Howard Ashman-Alan Menken musical that officially opens Oct. 4 and runs through Nov. 9.

Lamon (Wicked) portrays Seymour opposite Gina Milo (Les Miserables) as Audrey. The Little Shop company also features Bob Arnold (The Producers) as Mushnik, Christian Whelan (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Orin, Lakisha Anne Bowen as Chiffon, Melinda Wakefield Alberty as Ronnette, Kristal Joy Brown as Crystal and Maxx as the voice of Audrey II. Bill Remington inhabits the flesh-eating plant from outer space. The cast also includes Missy Dowse, Jade Hicks, and Craig Sculli.

Designing the skid row world of Little Shop are Court Watson (scenic design), Tricia Barsamian (costume design), Joel E. Silver (lighting design), Bridget O'Connor (sound design), Mark Adam Rampmeyer (hair and wig design) and Sonoka Fukuma Gozelski (prop design). Donny Jones serves as musical director.

Little Shop of Horrors is based on the 1960 cult movie "The Little Shop of Horrors." The musical version, with music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, debuted Off-Broadway at WPA Theatre in 1982 starring Lee Wilkoff and Ellen Greene in a role that would become her signature.
