Chicagoland native Liz Callaway, of Broadway's Miss Saigon, Baby and Cats, returns to the Windy City to perform her cabaret show at The Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights, IL, Sept. 7-9. The Tony Award-nominated actress-singer is heard in the animated films, "Anastasia" and "Lion King II." Her cabaret turn will include a variety of material, including selections from her new CD. Callaway is a native of Chicago's North Shore.
The Metropolis theatre will be expanded to 360 seats, with cabaret-style tables and chairs added at the base of the stage, and beverage service available at all seats in the house.
Callaway's appearance is part of the Metropolis Broadway Cabaret Series. Jeff Harnar and Shauna Hicks in Sing Mickey and Judy are expected next in the series, Nov. 30 Dec. 2.
In addition to cabaret work, Metropolis, in the northwest Chicago suburbs, is home to The Second City, Apple Tree Theatre, Metropolis Youth Symphony, dance and music presentations and more.
