The cast of the new comedy, previously seen at Williamstown, MA, features the Broadway debut of opera star and four-time Grammy Award winner Fleming as Raquel De Angelis with Tony Award nominee Douglas Sills as Vito De Angelis, Jerry O'Connell as Robert Samson, two-time Emmy Award nominee Anna Chlumsky as Iris Peabody, Blake Hammond as Bruce and Scott Robertson as Eric.
The show will have played 21 previews and 16 regular performance at the Longacre Theatre.
Producers Scott Landis and Philip Morgaman issued a statement saying, “It has truly been an honor and a joy to bring this hilarious and touching new play to Broadway. It’s disappointing that we weren’t able to find a large enough audience during this overwhelmingly busy time of the Broadway season. We couldn’t be more proud of this amazing cast and creative team who made Living on Love a labor of love. We hope folks will get over to the Longacre to see their fantastic work before the final performance this Sunday."

"The world’s most famous opera singer Renée Fleming plays the world’s most famous opera singer in this hilarious new screwball comedy," according to press notes. "When her larger-than-life maestro husband (Sills) becomes enamored with the lovely young lady (Chlumsky) hired to ghostwrite his largely fictional autobiography, the diva retaliates by hiring her own handsome, young scribe (O'Connell) to chronicle her life as an opera star. Sparks fly, silverware is thrown, and romance blossoms in the most unexpected ways."
The creative team includes scenic designer Derek McLane, costume designer Michael Krass, lighting designer Peter Kaczorowski, sound designer Scott Lehrer and music consultant Rob Fisher.
