News London Production of Sweeney Todd Finds Its Sweeney, Mrs. Lovett, Johanna, Anthony and More A new production of Sweeney Todd that will mark the first in-house show at the new Twickenham Theatre in West London will star David Bedella in the title role with Sarah Ingram as Mrs. Lovett. It begins performances Sept. 10 prior to an official opening Sept. 16, for a run through Oct. 4.

Also in the cast will be Mark McKerracher as Judge Turpin, Zoe Curlett as Beggar Woman, Shaun Chambers as Pirelli, Genevieve Kingsford as Johanna, Mikaela Newton as Tobias, Josh Tevendale as Anthony.

The production is directed by Derek Anderson, with musical supervision by Tim Jackson, musical direction by Ben Holder, set design by Rachel Stone, costume design by Olivia Ward, sound design by Joel Price and casting by Anne Vosser. It is produced by David Adkin in association with Twickenham Theatre.

Bedella won the Best Actor in a Musical at the 2004 Olivier Awards, the Evening Standard Awards and The Critics Circle Awards for creating the role of the warm-up man Jonathan Weiruss/Satan in Jerry Springer The Opera. He appeared in the role at the National Theatre, in the West End, the Sydney Opera House and in New York in a concert version at Carnegie Hall. Other West End roles include Frank n Furter in The Rocky Horror Show, Billy Flynn in Chicago and Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Ingram’s many West End musicals include Oklahoma!, South Pacific, Martin Guerre, Inherit The Wind, Flashdance, Imagine This, Murderous Instincts and Napoleon. She has also appeared in Road Show at the Menier Chocolate Factory and Josie in the revival of the Boy George musical Taboo at Brixton Clubhouse, and regionally as Miss Hannigan in Annie at West Yorkshire Playhouse.
