BBC Radio 2 is also to broadcast a new special two-hour highlights program April 18, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, that will include speeches, performances, backstage interviews and studio guests. ITV will enhance their Olivier Awards partnership with the ITV stage in Covent Garden piazza, free to the public where there will be a relay of the awards ceremony show on big screens, as well as live performances from West End shows, along with special guests. The hosts and performances to be featured will be announced at a later date.
The BBC's involvement will see the return of the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for most popular show, which will be decided entirely on the votes of members of the public. Voting was launched on the Elaine Paige show Jan. 26, and will close March 4. To vote, visit olivierawards.com.
Executive Producer for the Society of London Theatre will be Julian Bird, and Lee Connolly and Fiona Clark for ITV Studios.
