News London's Wicked Sets Record for Highest Single-Week Gross in West End History The London production of Wicked has set the record for the highest single-week box-office gross in West End history, according to its executive producer Michael McCabe.

It grossed £1,002,885 for a nine-performance schedule during the week commencing Dec. 27. (Wicked, in common with most other West End shows, typically only plays an eight-performance week, but the anomaly was created by a different holiday schedule). Wicked was seen by over 20,000 theatregoers during this period. It completes a tally of over 800,000 people who have seen the show across 2010, when the show grossed over £30 million in all, an increase of over £3 million on the previous year.

According to a press statement, the show has played almost 1,800 performances in London now, been seen by over three million theatregoers and taken over £121 million at the box office since opening at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in 2006.
