Theatre Three of Port Jefferson, Long Island, is seeking submissions for its third annual Festival of One-Act Plays, to be held on its Second Stage February and March of 2000.

Theatre Three, one of the largest theatres in Long Island, inaugurated its yearly one-act fest in 1998, presenting a quartet of works in its then long-dormant downstairs space. In 1999, it produced an evening of five one-acts.

Playwrights should send only unproduced work. Plays must be original; no adaptations, musicals or children's plays. Cast size should be kept to six or less, with simple settings, and a 40-minute maximum running time. Playwrights may submit more than one play.

Please enclose a cover letter; synopsis; resume; a cover sheet with title, author's address and phone number; a SASE envelope; along with a copy of the play, bound or stapled, to: Theatre Three, P.O. Box 512, Port Jefferson, NY 11777-0512. No calls of drop-bys.

The deadline for submission is Sept. 30, 1999. -- By Robert Simonson
