On November 29, Marcon and his ensemble will appear at Carnegie Hall.
The authorship of the long-lost Andromeda liberata, an 18th-century serenata, has been the subject of lively debate among music scholars. Some, such as Olivier Four_s, who discovered the work two years ago in the archives of the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice, believes it is at least in part the work of Antonio Vivaldi, and may in fact be entirely his work.
Other scholars think it is a pastiche of works by other composers such as Giovanni Porta and Tomaso Albinoni.
After Carnegie Hall, the ensemble will travel to Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam, and London.
