Actor-playwright Rhodes (Rites of Privacy) authored the play about a group of baby boomers who trek to Scotland for a 50th birthday celebration. In New York City, Price directed A Class Act, 110 in the Shade, Urban Cowboy, Master Harold… and the Boys and the recent New York Philharmonic concert of Company, among other productions. The industry readings are sponsored by Michael T. Cohen. General management is by Brierpatch Productions.
The reading cast will feature Christopher Innvar (110 in the Shade, The People in the Picture), Margaret Colin (Arcadia, Old Acquaintance), John Pankow (Equivocation, Twelve Angry Men) and Mary Catherine Garrison (Lend Me a Tenor, Assassins).
According to producers, "A family of New York baby boomers gather on a remote Scottish Island to celebrate Stella's 50th birthday. Add a dragon, an unwanted pregnancy and a bag of hallucinogenic mushrooms to the mix and you're on The Road to Skye."
Rhodes' solo play Rites of Privacy played a 2007 Off-Broadway run at Urban Stages and was also seen in London in 2010. As an actor he has appeared on screen in "Playing for Keeps" and "Law and Order." His numerous stage appearances include Lovers and Other Stranglers, I'm Telling You, Julius Caesar and the world premiere of The Sleeper.
