A lost vagabond meets a woman who lives in a cardboard box in the two character, urban-jungle play, Dream City Twosome, presented by Main Street Arts Feb. 5-March 28 at the Irish Arts Center in Manhattan. The romantic drama by Tony Howarth received its premiere in February 1997 at Main Street Arts' 70-seat space in Nyack, NY, where the professional company tests works before bringing them Off-Broadway. OB previews begin Feb. 5; opening night is Feb. 14.

Michele Santopietro (HBO's "The Sopranos") stars as the woman, and standup comic and actor John DiGiacomo plays the man.

Howarth won the 1989 John Gassner Award for playwriting. He teaches playwriting at Westbeth Theatre Center.

Dream City Twosome is directed by Ted Forlow. Designers are Blue Man Group designer Kevin Joseph Roach (scenic), Adam Gabel (lighting), Maria Daggett (sound) and Dawn Marcoccia.

Main Street Arts' mission since its founding five years ago is to workshop and develop new works in the economically-friendly Nyack. The company, headed by artistic director Paul Perez, previously brought Bea's Nest to the Judith Anderson Theatre Off Broadway.

Tickets for Dream City Twosome are $35. The Irish Arts Center is at 553 W. 51st St. Call (212) 581-4125 for information.
