Susan Lucci, who was set to replace Kathie Gifford at Feinstein's at the Regency from Nov. 12-23, has canceled her engagement.
Lucci's press representative issued a statement saying that the actress' father had "recently taken a turn for the worse due to complications from heart surgery and lung cancer." Gifford, too, canceled her engagement because of her father's poor health.
Betty Buckley is currently performing her acclaimed Deep in the Heart show at the posh club through Nov. 9. After a two-week break, the club will resume performances with the premiere of a new show starring Michael Feinstein and Gloria Reuben — of "ER" fame — Nov. 25 to Dec. 7.
Best known for her Emmy Award-winning role as Erica Kane on ABC-TV's "All My Children," Lucci made her Broadway debut in the revival of Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun. She made her first nightclub appearance in Atlantic City when she opened for Regis Philbin. At Feinstein's, Lucci was planning to offer an evening of standards as well as more contemporary material.
Feinstein's at the Regency is located in New York City at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street. For more information, call (212) 339-4095. —By Andrew Gans
