Laurence Luckinbill, who a couple years ago starred in a one-man show about famed lawyer Clarence Darrow, will visit Off-Broadway this fall with a new one-man show about another man from roughly the same era: Teddy Roosevelt.
Teddy Tonight—a show in the tradition of Hal Holbrook's Mark Twain Tonight and James Whitmore's Give 'Em Hell, Harry—will play Oct. 18-Nov. 10 at the Abingdon Theatre Company on 312 W. 36th St. Luckinbill penned the work. Kim T. Sharp directs.
The actions takes place in July 1918. The former president is waiting for word on his son, who is missing in action.
Luckinbill has appeared in the original productions of The Boys in the Band, A Man for All Seasons, The Shadow Box, Chapter Two, all on Broadway, and A Fair Country at Lincoln Center Theater. He also appeared in the current revival of Cabaret. His Darrow show played at the Ensemble Studio Workshop.
