News Lucy Thurber's The Bottom of the World Gets Reading at Public Dec. 13 Lucy Thurber, who impressed critics will her recent Off-Broadway offering Where We're Born, will see her new play The Bottom of the World, given a reading at 7:30 Dec. 13 at the Public Theater's Shiva Theater.

The reading is present by WET, "a non-profit independent production company developing and producing media events, theatrical productions, and parties which follow the mission of promoting powerful images of women in the media in order to challenge the status quo."

Bottom of the World "takes place both in contemporary New York City and a fantasy world set in American Bluegrass Country in the mid 1900s, with original New England fiddle tunes composed specifically for this play," according to production notes.

The cast includes Myra Lucretia Taylor, Tuck Milligan, Michi Barall, Patch Darragh, Austin Lysy, Leenya Rideout and Susan Kelechi Watson.
