News LuPone and Lane Inducted Into Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame; Gala Set for June Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Nathan Lane are the first two inductees announced for the Fourth Annual Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame Gala June 27.

The evening featuring performances by LuPone and Lane will open the 82nd season of the famed venue, boasting the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra under the direction of John Mauceri. In a statement, Deborah Borda, the executive director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association said, "Each year, our Hall of Fame celebration pays tribute to exemplary artists who have performed at the Bowl through the years — those who embody the spirit of the one-of-a-kind venue. We are thrilled to honor the remarkable Nathan Lane and Patti LuPone this year."

The fourth annual gala will also include a presentation of the Unsung Hero Award, which recognizes Los Angeles educators. Singer Josh Groban, the newly appointed "Music Matters" spokesperson will present the award. The evening, in fact, will benefit "Music Matters," the children's music education programs of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.

A Tony Award winner for her work in Evita, Patti LuPone also earned an Olivier Award for her performances in the West End productions of Les Mis*rables and The Cradle Will Rock. Her other theatrical credits include Sunset Boulevard, Anything Goes, Oliver!, Working, The Old Neighborhood, Master Class and the City Center Encores! production of Pal Joey. LuPone also headlined two solo concerts, Patti LuPone On Broadway and Matters of the Heart.

Nathan Lane has starred on The Great White Way in The Producers (Tony Award), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Tony Award), Present Laughter, Merlin, The Wind in the Willows, Some Americans Abroad, On Borrowed Time, Guys and Dolls, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Love! Valour! Compassion! and The Man Who Came to Dinner.

Those previously inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame include John Williams, Garth Brooks, Bernadette Peters, Randy Newman, George Harrison, Kathleen Battle, Marilyn Horne, Monty Python, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt and John Raitt.
