News LuPone, Merkerson, Ahrens, Parsons, Caldwell and More to Be Featured in "Women in Theatre" TV Season
CUNY-TV's "Women in Theatre" season, hosted by Newsday theatre critic Linda Winer, will kick off April 7 with an interview with Tony and Olivier Award-winning actress Patti LuPone, who is back on Broadway in the hit revival of Sweeney Todd.

The "Women in Theatre" season boasts a total of 13 interviews, including the series' first with a man, playwright Edward Albee, who speaks about the women in his award-winning plays. Each interview will be offered several times on CUNY-TV Channel 75: Fridays at 10 AM, 3 PM and 8:30 PM and Sundays at noon. The complete line-up for this year's "Women in Theatre" season follows:

In a statement, host Winer had this to say about the four-year-old series: "It is an honor and a privilege to talk to so many terrific, talented women in theatre who have not been asked enough questions and have so much to say. It is wonderful to have a living archive, now numbering 52 extraordinary women over four years, as a record of these women's many accomplishments."
