On Sunday, July 19, the China Club's Broadway Series presents Heather MacRae singing "Songs For My Father: The Movie Music of Gordon MacRae".

Heather MacRae is best known to younger audiences for playing Dr. Charlotte, one of "the lesbians from next door," in William Finn's Falsettos on Broadway. She also first sang "I Believe in Love", "Easy To Be Hard", and "Good Morning, Starshine" as Sheila in original Hair. Currently, MacRae performs at the Rainbow and Stars in the New York centennial cabaret, "I Love New York".

Her father, Gordon MacRae, created both Oklahoma!'s Curly and Carousel's Billy Bigelow for the screen, as well as roles in Tea For Two, Three Sailors and a Girl, and The Desert Song. Music from these films and others will be sung by his daughter as part of the evening.

Future acts planned for the Broadway Series include Bobby Day (Smokey Joe's Cafe) and Friends Aug. 2, Brian d'Arcy James and special guests on Aug. 9, and four weeks of B.J. Crosby (Smokey Joes Cafe and Dreamgirls). All shows will be at 8 PM.
