Performances at the Lower East Side venue are scheduled for Oct. 8-11 at 8 PM and Oct. 12 at 2 PM.

The Birds & The Bees is performed by co-creators Julia Osen Averill, Mike Burke, Ruth Cooper, Samantha Cunha, Meggan Dodd, Liza Fischer, Cat Fisher, Lindsay Griffin, Austin Klich, Suzu Ledoux, Emily Faye Oakley, E. Okobi, Mary Parker, Holly Sansom and Mary Sheridan.

The new work, according to press notes, "explores the unique -- yet interwoven -- life circumstances of eight women & trans people forced to confront their own sexuality, realizing that sexuality itself is not simple or clear-cut. Through dialogue, movement, song, humor, and multimedia, the performance examines such themes as partner communication, sexual identity, the de-sexualization of aging women, today’s 'hook-up' culture, and sexual health."

“We want people to know that others out there recognize the complexity of modern female and trans sexuality, and to feel comfortable in challenging the conceptions society often defines for them,” said Honest Accomplice Theater co-founders Keenan-Bolger and Sullivan in an earlier statement.

The production also has set and lighting by Christina Watanabe, sound by Nathan Gregory, costumes by Amanda Roberge, video by Nadia Awad and Andrew Keenan-Bolger and props by Brenna Hughest.
