News Mamma Mia! Welcomes John Dossett and Michele Pawk Oct. 19 On Oct. 19 husband and wife acting couple John Dossett and Michele Pawk join the Broadway company of Mamma Mia! — which just celebrated its fourth anniversary on Broadway — playing the roles of Sam Carmichael and Donna Sheridan.

The performance will also mark the arrivals of several other performers. Olga Merediz, seen on Broadway in Reckless, Man of La Mancha and Les Misérables, will become the newest Rosie, the role created in New York by Tony winner Judy Kaye. Carey Anderson, seen in the national tour of Mamma Mia!, will step into the role of Sophie Sheridan, her Broadway bow, and Andy Kelso will also make his Broadway debut as Sky. Olivia Oguma and Samantha Eggers also join the cast as Sophie’s best friends, Ali and Lisa.

Judy McLane, David Beach and Mark L. Montgomery continue in their roles of, respectively, Tanya, Harry Bright and Bill Austin.

The Mamma Mia! cast also features Albert Guerzon as Eddie and Ben Gettinger as Pepper, and the ensemble comprises Meredith Akins, Brent Black, Jen Burleigh-Bentz, Angela Ara Brown, Isaac Calpito, Christopher Carl, Lanene Charters, Shakiem Evans, Bryan Scott Johnson, Jon-Erik Goldberg, Carol Linnea Johnson, Megan Osterhaus, Sandy Rosenberg, Janet Rothermel, Ryan Sander, Patrick Sarb, Ryan-Michael Shaw, Britt Shubow, Collette Simmons, Mackenzie Thomas and Leah Zepel.

Michele Pawk received a Tony Award for her performance in Hollywood Arms. She has also starred on The Great White Way in Mail, Crazy for You, Chicago, Triumph of Love, Cabaret and Seussical, and she was also seen in the out-of-town tryouts of Stephen Sondheim's Bounce.

John Dossett starred as Dr. J. W. Talbot in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Dinner at Eight and opposite Bernadette Peters in the Sam Mendes-directed revival of Gypsy, earning a Tony nomination for his work as Herbie. He also starred in the Kennedy Center mounting of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, and his other theatrical credits include roles in Hello Again, An Almost Holy Picture, Tom Sawyer, Ragtime, Prelude to a Kiss, Mastergate, Fifth of July and King of Schnorrers. On screen Dossett has been seen in "Nick and Jane," "That Night," "Longtime Companion," "Law & Order," "Hack," "Sex & the City," "Homicide," "Blue Moon," "Cracker Man," "JAG" and "Clover." Mamma Mia! employs the hit songs of famed pop group ABBA to tell the story of Sophie Sheridan, a young girl who hopes to discover the identity of her father. On the eve of her wedding, she brings three men from her mother Donna's past back to the Greek island they visited over two decades ago. The musical celebrated its fourth anniversary on Broadway Oct. 19, 2004.

Mamma Mia! features music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, a book by Catherine Johnson, direction by Phyllida Lloyd and choreography by Anthony Van Laast. The musical plays the Winter Garden Theatre, which is located in New York City at 1634 Broadway. For tickets, call (212) 239-6262. The musical offers performances Wednesday through Saturdays at 8 PM, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 2 and 7 PM.
