The May 19 concert will boast the talents of singer-songwriter-actress Melissa Manchester; Broadway favorite Carol Woods; 1960s music icon Richie Havens; Peter (Asher) and Gordon (Waller), often referred to as the "British Invasion's Everly Brothers"; the critically acclaimed Beatles tribute band The Fab Faux; and The Backwards, a Slovakian Beatles tribute band. The Young People's Chorus of New York City will also be part of the benefit performance.
Come Together is produced and directed by Jeffrey Martin and John Kroner and written by Russell Reich. Helaine Geismar Katz is executive producer. Lanny Meyers is music director.
The concert, according to press notes, will pay "tribute to the tremendous musical, cultural and creative legacy of the Beatles, recognizing not only their immense musical talent and considerable charm but also their deep commitment to change and innovation, which were key elements in the lasting impact they have had on popular culture."
The evening at the East Side venue will begin at 6 PM with cocktails/buffet dinner followed by the 8 PM performance.
