Held at 3 and 7 PM on the mainstage at Cherry Lane Theatre, the reading features Angelina Fiordellisi (Zorba, Nunsense), Mandy Gonzalez (Wicked, In the Heights), Alex Morgan, Dennis Parlato (Other Desert Cities) and Peter McRobbie (Mens Lives). Valentina Fratti directs.
Here's how the production is billed: "Love/Kill is set in a university town in Western Canada, where a married couple, Marianna and John, have survived the death of their son. But when Marianna is diagnosed with cancer, John simply cannot cope and begins an affair with his wife's significantly younger friend. His inability to stand by his wife's side is only made more detestable when an old lover of hers reappears, ready to accept her and take her away. As the four face some of life's great challenges including the savagery of illness, the play explores the evolution of a marriage and asks the question, does love itself die when we change and how do we free ourselves or rediscover old love?"
Pintauro's writing credits include Beside Herself; By The Sea, By The Sea, By The Beautiful Sea; Men's Lives; Heaven And Earth; Snow Orchid; The Dead Boy; and The Raft of the Medusa.
The readings are open and free to the public, although reservations are required. E-mail [email protected].
