Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley will take audiences to Broadway and Beyond, in their new cabaret show starting May 29 at Feinstein’s/54 Below in Manhattan.

Mazzie has been nominated for the Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical for the 1999 revival of Kiss Me, Kate, and original productions of Ragtime and Passion. Danieley has been featured in The Full Monty, Curtains, Candide, and The Visit. The husband-and-wife team will perform Broadway and Beyond May 29, 31, and June 1 at 7 PM; May 29 and 30 at 9:30 PM.

The engagement marks, not just their 20th wedding anniversary, but 20 years of singing together, mainly on tour and on television. The Feinstein’s/54 Below engagement will mark their first time singing in that venue together. For the occasion, Danieley told Playbill, they have assembled a concert that will combine “some of the songs from some of the shows we’ve introduced on Broadway, and some of the songs we’ve performed on PBS in Concert. It’s kind of like a greatest hits but we have a variety of things that no one’s ever seen unless you’ve seen us in concert.”

“Also,” Mazzie said, “we’re going to talk about our marriage and about the journey we’ve been on, especially the last couple of years with my ovarian cancer and what that does to a relationship.”

“And how that changes the songs we’ve been singing for 20 years,” Danieley said. “For instance we have a different look and approach to [Stephen Sondheim’s] ‘Not a Day Goes By’
which Marin’s been singing for a long time. Which plays different now because of where we’ve been.”

Watch Mazzie and Danieley sing Ahrens & Flaherty’s “Opposite You” from The Glorious Ones, which will be part of their show:

Fans will hear Danieley sing “I Miss the Music,” which John Kander wrote for the musical Curtains in memory of his late partner Fred Ebb. Mazzie plans a reprise of her “favorite” song from her show Ragtime, “Back to Before,” and a new arrangement of “Hello, Young Lovers” from The King and I, which she played on Broadway in 2016.

Danieley said he made a special point of including “You Walk With Me,” which he introduced in The Full Monty. “I’ve learned that members of the gay community have been singing it at their weddings, which I think is so wonderfully touching. Given the climate of the last couple of years, I think it’s important to include something like that.”

Tickets for the club show cost $50 to $125, plus a $25 food/beverage minimum. They can be ordered at 54Below.com.

Mazzie and Danieley were special guest performers on Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas cruise to South America. Cabins are available for Playbill’s Rhine River cruise in August 2017, featuring Seth Rudetsky, Andréa Burns, Faith Prince, Terrence Mann, Charlotte d’Amboise, and Santino Fontana. Playbill Travel is now also booking Broadway on the Danube River for November 2017, with Carmen Cusack, Christopher Fitzgerald, Marc Kudisch, Julia Murney, Christopher Sieber, Brandon Uranowitz, and Rudetsky, as well as other exciting talent to be announced.
