A developmental lab of the musical Wallenberg will be held in Manhattan in September. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin September 6 with industry presentations September 29-30, according to an Actors' Equity casting notice.

Wallenberg features a book and lyrics by Laurence Holzman and Felicia Needleman and music by Benjamin Rosenbluth. Tony winner Martin Charnin (Annie) will direct the presentations with musical direction by Darren Cohen.

Wallenberg, according to the casting notice, is based on the “true story of Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish aristocrat who was determined at all costs to protect and save the lives of many Jewish people in Budapest during World War II.”

The creative team also includes executive producers/general managers Richard Frankel and Joe Watson. Casting is by Binder Casting.

A November 2013 reading of the musical featured Matt Bogart, Sierra Boggess and Dick Latessa.
