News Mary Poppins Celebrates Four Years on Broadway Nov. 16 The hit Disney/Cameron Mackintosh musical Mary Poppins celebrates four years on Broadway Nov. 16 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Previews for the family-friendly production began Oct. 14, 2006.

Worldwide to date, the show, which currently has four productions running on three continents, has grossed over $457 million and welcomed 6.4 million guests. The Broadway company features its acclaimed original London stars, Laura Michelle Kelly in the title role and Gavin Lee as Bert, with Karl Kenzler as George Banks, Megan Osterhaus as Winifred Banks, Valerie Boyle as Mrs. Brill, Ann Arvia as Miss Andrew, Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Robertson Ay, Janelle Anne Robinson as Bird Woman and Jonathan Freeman as Admiral Boom. Alternating in the role of Jane Banks are Rozi Baker, Catherine Missal and Sadie Seelert; alternating in the role of Michael Banks are Ethan Haberfield, David Gabriel Lerner and Anthony Scarpone-Lambert.

Richard Eyre directs Mary Poppins, which features choreography and co-direction by Matthew Bourne and boasts original songs from the film — with music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman — as well as new songs and additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Julian Fellowes wrote the book.
