The production, which was originally scheduled to conclude June 29, had been extended through Aug. 31. However, producers announced June 17 that the one-man comedy would now play its final performance July 20. Performances at the Off-Broadway venue began March 18. In a recent statement, Jackie Mason producers said, "Jackie has long said this would be his final NY one-man show, and unlike many of his colleagues (Streisand, Cher, etc) – he means it!! He will have played 120 performances."

Jackie Mason—The Ultimate Jew is described as such: "Elder statesman of the stand-up comedy world, Jackie Mason combines pungent political satire, insightful observations on the foibles of modern life, and impeccable timing to create material that leaves audiences laughing until they cry show after show."

Jackie Mason has been seen on Broadway in Jackie Mason: Freshly Squeezed, Jackie Mason's Laughing Room Only, Prune Danish, Much Ado About Everything, Love Thy Neighbor, Jackie Mason: Politically Incorrect, Jackie Mason: Brand New, Jackie Mason's The World According to Me! and A Teaspoon Every Four Hours. He won a 1987 Special Tony Award for The World According to Me!

New World Stages/Stage 3 is located in Manhattan at 340 West 50th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.
