Previews will begin Oct. 1 at the downtown company's home and open Oct. 17 for a run currently slated through Nov. 14. Masur and Playten take on the title roles in the comedy set on New York's Manhattan Bridge.

In The Oldsmobiles, according to show notes, "Mr. and Mrs. Oldsmobile are perched on the edge contemplating their life together and life hereafter. With the eyes of the NYPD, the fire department, tourists, celebrities, a news anchor, a priest, the mayor, and the Oldsmobile's children upon them, the couple relish the attention and ponder the possibilities of life and death."

Masur is known for his work in such films as "Risky Business," "My Girl" and "Palindromes" as well as his Emmy Award-nominated turn in the TV movie "The Burning Bed." He has appeared on stage in Broadway's The Changing as well as Democracy, The Exonerated, The Ruby Sunrise, Two Thousand Years and Make Me.

Playten made her Broadway debut in 1959's Gypsy and has been also seen in Henry, Sweet Henry; Oliver!; Hello, Dolly!; Rumors; Seussical and Caroline, or Change. On screen, her credits include "Ladybug Ladybug," "I.Q." and "Legend."

Rosenblatt is also the author of essays and books as well as the plays include Free Speech in America and Ashley Montana Goes Ashore in The Caicos... or What Am I Doing Here? — which premiered at The Flea in 2005 starring Bebe Neuwirth and Jeffrey DeMunn.

The Flea Theater season will continue with Elaine Murphy's Little Gem, Henri Becque's The Vultures and Bathsheba Doran's The Parents’ Evening.
