Matthew Maher, who won an 1999 Obie for his work in The Race of the Ark Tattoo, is returning to the work of verse playwright Kirk Wood Bromley, starring in the latter's latest, Midnight Brainwash Revival, Dec. 2-31. The production will take place at the Kraine Theatre, 85 E. 4th St.
Maher made his Bromley debut a season ago as an ambiguous assassin in The Death of Griffin Hunter. Also starring in Revival is Matt Daniels. Chad Garcia produces.
Revival takes place in the Utah town of Moab, and incorporates a variety of millennial and end-of-the-world themes. Populating the city, which is on the verge of being turned into a toxic waste dump, are fanatics waiting for the messiah, prophets, cultists and a secret society of truckers.
Bromley's others works include The American Revolution, Icarus and Aria and Want's Unwished Work.
