News Max and Ruby Will Play the Lortel in December The family-friendly musical Max and Ruby will play a limited engagement at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in Greenwich Village this winter.

Presented by TheatreworksUSA, previews will begin at the Off-Broadway venue Dec. 7 with an official opening scheduled for Dec. 9. The production will play through Jan. 13, 2008. Max and Ruby features music and lyrics by Carol Hall and a book by Glen Berger. Randy White will direct.

The musical, according to press notes, "follows the escapades of bunny siblings Max and Ruby [and is] based on the series of stories by Rosemary Wells and the popular TV programs on Nick Jr. and Noggin."
