Sally Mayes and Jose Llana will head a cast that also features Deborah Lew, Louis Dobson, Kyle Dean Massey, Lily Tung, John Bolton, Tracy McDowell, Christina Bianco, Michael Buchannan and Katy Basile. George Quick directs. The reading, which will feature musical direction and arrangements by Lynne Shankel, is being presented by the San Francisco New Theatre Workshop.

Quick directed earlier presentations of Homeland in San Francisco and Sacramento.

Homeland, according to press notes, is "the story of star-crossed lovers — a daughter of Korean immigrants and a native son from West Texas — caught in the American culture wars, where race, religion and values collide."

Jay Kuo is also the author of the musical comedy Insignificant Others, which completed an 11-month run in San Francisco last year.
