Husband-and-wife musical theatre stars Jason Danieley and Marin Mazzie will team up for two concerts with the San Francisco Symphony in December.
On Dec. 29 (2 PM) Danieley and Mazzie will take part in "Vienna Woods, New York Night: Songs of Two Cities," which begins with Viennese Waltzes and concludes with Broadway showstoppers. Edwin Outwater will conduct the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. And, on Dec. 31 (9 PM) the duo will be part of the annual "New Year's Eve Gala" concert, which features complimentary champagne and desserts following the performance. Outwater will conduct the Dec. 31 holiday concert as well.
Jason Danieley was most recently on Broadway as Malcolm MacGregor in The Full Monty, a role he repeated on the London stage. For his Broadway debut in the revival of Candide, he received a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk nomination. Danieley's other theatrical credits include the City Center Encores! production of Strike Up the Band as well as Off Broadway runs in Dream True and Floyd Collins.
A three-time Tony Award nominee for her performances in Kiss Me, Kate; Ragtime; and Passion, Mazzie's other theatrical credits include Into the Woods, Big River, The World Goes 'Round, the City Center Encores! production of Out of this World and Off-Broadway's The Trojan Women: A Love Story, where she met husband Danieley. Mazzie also recently concluded a run in the London production of Kiss Me, Kate, where she earned an Olivier Award nomination for her work.
Tickets for the Dec. 29 concert are priced between $15 and $83; Dec. 31 seats range from $87 to $145. All concerts will be held in Davies Symphony Hall.
