Theatre stars will gather Nov. 8 at the Union Square Theatre in New York City to perform in Opening the Door, a benefit aimed at bringing the arts to underprivileged youth.

Audra McDonald, Betty Buckley, Kristin Chenoweth, Adam Guettel, Donna McKechnie, Anthony Rapp, Julia K. Murney, Billy Porter, Emily Skinner, Christiane Noll, Norm Lewis, Scott Wise, Elizabeth Parkinson, Chris Fitzgerald, Jessica Stone, Alix Korey and others will perform in the one night-only concert on Nov. 8 at 8 PM.

Seth Redetsky will be the musical director for Opening The Door which comprises songs "old and new (some from as-yet-unseen new musicals), with both individual performances and various pairings," according to production sources.

With much of the show still being worked out, Playbill On-Line has learned that Kristin Chenoweth will sing “Glitter And Be Gay” from Candide, Emily Skinner will sing “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from Jesus Christ Superstar, Audra McDonald and Adam Guettel will be performing a Guettel composition, Alix Korey and Julia K. Murney will each sing songs they will introduce in the upcoming production of Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party, Jessica Stone and Chris Fitzgerald will be singing “I Wish I Were in Love Again,” which they performed in Encores’ Babes In Arms and newlyweds Scott Wise and Elizabeth Parkinson, Fosse, will also sing together.

Proceeds from Opening the Door will benefit The Mark Yarborough M.D. Performing Arts Program at The Door, a not-for-profit organization that empowers over four thousand New York City youth by providing comprehensive development programs in a diverse and caring environment. The honorary committee of "Opening the Door" comprises Olympia Dukakis, Calista Flockhart and Isaac Mizrahi, while Jeffrey Seller, Daryl Roth, Hal Luftig and Jenny Wiener make up the production committee.

"Opening the Door" takes place Nov. 8 at 8 PM at the Union Square Theatre, 100 East 17th St. Tickets are $50 and $100. Call Ticketmaster at (212) 307-4100.
