The cast will include Robin Baudier, Sean Glazebrook, Alex Lemonie, Vatican Lokey, Jessica Podewell and Alex Martinez Wallace.
According to press notes, With a Bang "is a ridiculously absurd, terrifying comedic tale. Our young heroine, Margaret, finds out that her father has died…again. When she’s confronted by one very awkward messenger, who vehemently denies being an angel, Margaret realized she must take on her father’s mission – to save the world."
The show features scenic design by Jeff Becker, costumes by Kelly James-Penot, lighting design by James Clotfelter and sound design by Eric Shimelonis. Mark Routhier is the show’s dramaturg.
The mission of Southern Rep, now in its 23rd season, "is to develop and produce new plays by American playwrights," according to the company website.
The NOLA Project is a nonprofit corporation currently operating under the umbrella of Southern Repertory Theatre. "The company’s goal is to create a repertory theatre in New Orleans while developing ongoing theatrical relationships between New Orleans and the rest of the country and the world," according to press notes. Southern Rep will also present a free screening of “Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated,” March 31 at 7 PM. The film is a collaborative artistic mash-up of George Romero’s cult classic; 150 artists chose their favorite scene from the film and re-envisioned them through their own artwork. The work ranges from oil paintings to sock puppets to CGI and stop-motion, all placed over the films original audio. Admission is first come, first served.
