Maureen McGovern, who was most recently on Broadway in Little Women, will help kick off the annual race by singing the National Anthem. In a statement Donna Lawrence, the executive director of Komen Greater New York City, said, "We are thrilled and honored to have Jill Eikenberry, a 21-year breast cancer survivor, and husband Michael Tucker as spokespersons for this year's Race. In addition to forming their own team, they're opening their own team membership to the general public."

Actress Eikenberry added, "Mike and I are very excited to be a part of this year's New York City Race. As a survivor myself, I want to do whatever I can to fulfill the vision I share with Komen — and all Race participants — a vision of a world without breast cancer."

Proceeds raised will benefit breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs.
