News Mel Brooks to Receive Guild Hall's Lifetime Achievement Award East Hampton's Guild Hall will honor The Producers and Young Frankenstein creator Mel Brooks during its 23rd annual Lifetime Achievement Awards Gala on March 3.

Brooks, who is being honored for his work in the performing arts, will be feted alongside author Joe Pintauro (literary arts) and contemporary American painter David Salle (visual arts). A special award will be presented to Robert F.X. Sillerman for his leadership and philanthropic endeavors.

Established in 1985, Guild Hall's Lifetime Achievement Awards honor individuals for their achievements in the literary, visual, and performing arts, as well as their philanthropic efforts.

Previous Guild Hall honorees include such artists and philanthropists as Ben Bradlee, Alec Baldwin, April Gornik, Stephen Spielberg, Betty Freidan, Billy Joel, Lauren Bacall, Paul Simon and Wendy Wasserstein.
