News   Memphis Announces Tour Dates and Cities Through August 2012
The complete itinerary has been announced for the national tour of the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis, which will launch in its namesake city Oct. 14 at the Orpheum Theatre.

Bon Jovi songwriter and band member David Bryan and Joe DiPietro penned the score to Memphis, which is flavored with gospel, R&B, rock and soul sounds. The musical about an interracial love affair in the 1950s segregated South opened on Broadway Oct. 19, 2009, at the Shubert Theatre under the direction of Christopher Ashley.

Based on a concept by George W. George, Memphis features choreography by Sergio Trujillo (Next to Normal, Jersey Boys), scenic design by David Gallo, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley and sound design by Ken Travis.
