News Mentalists Opens at U.K.'s Loft

Richard Bean's play The Mentalists is the latest to open at the National Theatre's new (temporary) Loft space, which occupies part of the Lyttelton promenade area.

Directed by Sean Holmes, The Mentalists has as its central character the middle-aged fleet manager Ted, who is on a journey of discovery as he hits on a Utopian plan to change the world.

The Loft has, so far, had a largely well-reviewed series of plays (even The Shadow of a Boy, which was dismissed by most critics, was given a rave review by John Peter in The Sunday Times and won a new playwright award), so expectations are high for The Mentalists.
