Directed by Dexter Bullard, the production will officially open Off-Broadway Nov. 14. Shannon plays B-list producer Felix Artifex opposite Mierka Girten as Esther.
Mistakes Were Made is billed as a character study "of a man seeking redemption, but inescapably creating destruction." Felix gets in "way over his fast-talking head when he takes on a gargantuan epic about the French Revolution which he thinks is going to be his ticket to professional and personal reclamation."
The play received its world premiere at A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago in 2009 with the same cast and director.
The creative team includes Tom Burch (sets), Tif Bullard (costumes), Keith Parham (lights), Joe Fosco (sound), Michele Spadaro (props), Nan Zabriskie (makeup) and Sam Deutsch (puppeteer). The production stage manager is Richard A. Hodge.
Producers are Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter in association with A Red Orchid Theatre.
Shannon, who was Academy Award-nominated for Featured Actor in "Revolutionary Road," appeared in Bug and Our Town at the Barrow Street Theatre.
