A panel discussion about the state of Midwest resident theatres, which was filmed at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis Aug. 4, will air on "Theater Talk" Oct. 3.

This edition of "Theater Talk" — the PBS talk show that offers interviews with top theatre practitioners — was the first filmed outside of Manhattan. Broadcast time is 12:30 AM ET on WNET, Channel 13. Co-hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins moderated a discussion that spotlights four award-winning regional theatres. The panel comprised Guthrie artistic director Joe Dowling, The Children's Theatre Company artistic director Peter Brosius, Chicago Shakespeare Theater artistic director Barbara Gaines and Steppenwolf artistic director Martha Lavey. The discussion was presented on the Guthrie's Wurtele Stage.

A second episode of "Theater Talk" — featuring a look inside the Guthrie Theater and an informal chat with director Dowling — was also filmed and will be broadcast in February 2009.

"Theater Talk" is hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel and producer Susan Haskins. For more information visit www.theatertalk.org.
