The Complete Millennium Musical (abridged), the latest comedy spoof by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, will play at Cal State Fullerton's Plummer Auditorium on April 16 for one performance only. Curtain time is 3 PM.

The so-called "bad Boys of abridgement," the Reduced Shakespeare Company got its rep by shortening Shakespeare, American history and the Bible. The company's latest opus is a romp through the past 1000 years -- from Beowulf to "Baywatch." In the group's first musical production, three performers bring to life the six ages of the millennium: Dark, Middle, Renaissance, Enlightenment, Industrial and Information, in a snappy two-hour revue showcasing the events, personalities and inventions that are civilization's "greatest hits." Among the highlights are a sketch on the Spanish Inquisition featuring a whip-wielding dominatrix belting out the torchy anthem "Let 'Em Swing" and French impressionist painter Claude Monet doing a stand-up comedy routine called "Show Me the Monet."

The three-person ensemble includes Reed Martin, John Pohlhammer and Rachel Hamilton. Martin and Austin Tichenor wrote the book & lyrics, with original music composed by Nick Graham.
