Milwaukee Repertory Theatre will stage Michael Frayn's drama, Copenhagen, as part of its 2002-2003 Quadracci Powerhouse Theater season, Jan. 8-Feb. 9, 2003. The play about nuclear physicists and their personal and national loyalties before, during and after World War II, enjoyed success in London, on Broadway and on national tour and will now likely explode on the regional theatre scene. The January 2003 slot was TBA when The Rep announced its fall season earlier this year.
Artistic director Joseph Hanreddy will direct the work. The centerpiece in The Rep's 2002-2003 is the season opener, a stage adaptation of Moby Dick, Herman Melville's mammoth American novel about morality and obsession, directed and written by Eric Simonson. The 12-actor staging plays the Quadracci Sept. 4-Oct. 6.
