Milwaukee Repertory Theatre announced its 1999-2000 season March 14 and the slate includes a new Steven Dietz play based on Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People.

The 1999-2000 season on MRT's three stages is:

Quadracci Powerhouse Theater:
*Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, directed by artistic director Joseph Hanreddy, with music by Eric Segnitz, Sept. 10-Oct 10.
*Tennessee Williams' Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, directed by associate artistic director Edward Morgan, Oct. 22-Nov. 21.
*Michael Frayn's backstage farce, Noises Off, Dec. 3, 1999 Jan. 2, 2000.
*John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, with Hanreddy playing Lenny opposite Lee Ernst's George, directed by J.R. Sullivan, Jan. 14-Feb. 14, 2000.
*Harold Brighouse's warm but unsentimental British pre-feminist comedy, Hobson's Choice, March 3-April 2, 2000.
*Dietz' still-untitled take on An Enemy of the People, about small-town politics, directed by Hanreddy, April 14-May 14, 2000.

Stiemke Theater:
*Dietz' script of Bram Stoker's Dracula, directed by J.R. Sullivan, Oct. 24-Nov. 21.
*Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane, directed by Morgan, Jan. 23-Feb. 13, 2000.
*Donald Margulies' Collected Stories, possibly starring Uta Hagen, March 5-26, 2000.
*American Folklore Theatre's comedy, Lumberjacks in Love, directed by Jeffrey Herbst, April 14-May 14, 2000.

Stackner Cabaret:
*To be announced, beginning Sept. 11-Oct. 31.
*The return of the 1998-99 smash musical, Guys On Ice, about ice fisherman, by American Folklore Theatre, Nov. 6-Dec. 5.
*A revue of Paul Simon music, Old Friends, directed by Jeffrey Herbst, of American Folklore Theatre, Dec. 11, 1999-Jan. 9, 2000.
*A revue of Nat King Cole hits, The House That Nat Built, directed by Kevin Ramsey, Jan. 15-March 12, 2000.
