News Milwaukee's Skylight Will Stage Producers, Boheme, G&S and I Do! I Do! The Skylight, Milwaukee's resident company devoted to opera and musicals, will launch its 2008-09 season with La Boheme, and stage Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan's The Producers.

Artistic director Bill Theisen announced plans for the next season on March 11. Puccini's Boheme (directed by Theisen, conducted by Richard Carsey) will run Sept. 12-Oct. 5; The Producers (directed by Mark Lococo, choreographed by Pam Kriger, conducted by James Valcq) is expected to be a big holiday hit for the troupe Nov. 28, 2008-Jan. 4, 2009.

Jones and Schmidt's two-character marriage musical, I Do! I Do! (with Milwaukee favorites Norman Moses and Leslie Fitzwater), will play Jan. 30-Feb. 15, 2009. Dorothy Danner will direct. Richard Carsey will conduct.

Blues in the Night, the revue conceived by Sheldon Epps, gets a revival March 13-April 5, 2009, directed and choreographed by Donna Drake and conducted by Jamie Johns.

Gilbert & Sullivan's operetta The Pirates of Penzance plays May 22-June 14, 2009, directed and choreographed by Bill Theisen and conducted by Richard Carsey.

The Johnson Bank Cabaret Series will also return in the new season, in The Skylight Bar on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 PM, following performances at The Skylight. All productions in The Skylight's season will be presented in the intimate horseshoe-shaped Cabot Theatre of the Broadway Theatre Center located at 158 N. Broadway in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.
