The Tony Randall Theatrical Fund will also give $10,000 to the Red Bull Theatre for its fall production of Christopher Marlowe's Edward II, and $2,500 each for Gorilla Repertory Company and Target Margin Theater.

Over 45 proposals were vetted by a selection committee consisting of Jed Bernstein, Steve Buscemi, Charles Busch, Michael Cerveris, Cherry Jones, Jack Klugman, Michael Mastro, Marian Seldes, Gary Springer and Ben Vereen.

Last year's inaugural $100,000 grant went to the New York Theatre Workshop's production of Martha Clarke's Kaos.

The grant is awarded annually to a Tri-State area non-profit Equity company for "the production of a classic play, an adaptation of a classic play or a work inspired by the classics."

Heather Randall, Tony's wife, created the fund when Tony passed away in 2004. The National Actors Theatre, which Tony Randall founded in 1991, presented over 20 productions of classical works on Broadway and Off-Broadway. The Mint's mission is to revive neglected plays from the past. The Power of Darkness was first presented in New York in 1920 and has not been seen in the city in over 47 years.
