Meadow Brook Theatre, the LORT house nestled in suburban Detroit, will stage Arthur Miller's Broadway script of The Ride Down Mt. Morgan in favor of the previously-announced Miller classic, The Crucible, in March 2001. The theatre announced the change Sept. 1, when the latest work by Miller, seen earlier this year on Broadway, became available. Debra Wicks, Meadow Brook's interim artistic director, will stage the play.
The play concerns Lyman Felt, a bigger-than-life character who is revealed as a bigamist after he is victim of a car crash. Various versions of the play over the years have starred Tom Conti, F. Murray Abraham and (recently in New York) Patrick Stewart.
Meadow Brook performances, in Rochester, MI, are March 21 April 15, 2001. Call (248) 377-300 for information.
