News Molina, Murphy, Harris, More Stage Stars Featured in "Spider-Man 2," Opens June 30 As Peter Parker's superhero alter ego bounds about the streets of New York City in the sequel "Spider-Man 2," he happens upon some of the stars of the city's best known thoroughfare, Broadway, as the movie hits theaters, June 30.

Alfred Molina — star of the current revival of Fiddler on the Roof — battles Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man as the scientist-turned-villain Dr. Otto Octavius/Doc Ock. Playing his wife in the film is current Wonderful Town star Donna Murphy. Returning to the movie as Peter Parker's aunt, May Parker, is recent Waiting in the Wings star Rosemary Harris. Also joining the cast are stage stars Gregg Edelman (Wonderful Town), Bill Nunn (Raisin in the Sun) and Dylan Baker (Eastern Standard, Homebody/Kabul). "Spider-Man 2" finds our lovelorn teenager/ superhero (Maguire) giving up his crime fighting other half in an attempt to lead a normal life. But when the city is menaced by the evil Doctor Octopus, the young man must decide if his choice is right. Kirsten Dunst stars as Mary Jane, the object of his adoration, and James Franco plays his friend Norman Osborn, who witnessed Spider-Man kill his father, villain Green Goblin from the original film — played by Wooster Group veteran Willem Dafoe.
