Cabaret singer Carolyn Montgomery sings the songs of composer-lyricist Michael Ogborn in the pair's new act, In the Temple of the Honky Tonk, 11 PM Nov. 10 at the Firebird.

Erv Raible, the former booker-founder of the now-defunct Eighty Eight's, is programming old favorites and new acts into the Firebird, 365 W. 46th Street. In the Temple premiered at Odette's in New Hope, PA, Sept. 11-12. The New York City debut was Nov. 3.

Ogborn is the composer-lyricist of the regional hit, Box Office of the Damned, which was nominated in October 1999 for seven Barrymore Awards in Philadelphia. He is an Emmy Award winner for the PBS video of his song, "Soldiers in the Sky." He is currently working in Babycase, a musical about the hoopla surrounding the infamous Lindbergh baby kidnapping. It will be workshopped at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia in spring 2000.

Montgomery is an actress and cabaret singer whose comic quality has been embraced by critics. She has performed in regional theatre, opera, improv and cabarets in New York City.

In the new revue, Montgomery recalls her past as a singing bartender, punctuating her experiences with Ogborn's songs, drawn from a number of his shows (Box Office, Regalia, Earbeds, Fishwives and more). Jay Rogers (the actor known for Off-Broadway's When Pigs Fly) directs, with John Loehrke on bass and Ogborn on piano. Performances at Danny's Skylight Room in Manhattan follow, 9:15 PM Dec. 1 & 8.
