News Montreal Gets a Week of Beauty and the Beast With New Production Aug. 9-14 Montreal gets a fresh production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Aug. 9-14 at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, at Place des Artes.

The English-language BACI Management production is directed by Sam Scalamoni, musical directed by Bob Bray and choreographed by Tracy Generalovich.

The company includes Sarah Darling as Belle, Graham Rowat as the Beast, Marc Dalio as Gaston, Melanie Vaughan as Mrs. Potts, Jamison Stern as Lumiere, Tom Aulino as Cogsworth, Debra Cardona as Mme. de la Grande Bouche, Dana Saltzman as Babette, Mark Shunock as LeFou and Mike O'Carroll as Maurice.

The troupe rehearsed in New York City before shipping to Canada.

The creative team also includes lighting designer John Bartenstein, scenic designer Felix Cochren and costume designer Reggie Ray.

The hit stage version of the animated Disney picture is still going strong on Broadway, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, and has toured North America. Disney is now licensing the show to independent producers, who have jumped at the title.
