News Motown's Morgan James Will Sing Soul at SubCulture Morgan James, who was seen on Broadway in Godspell and Motown, will play SubCulture Sept. 3.

The 8 PM intimate performance will feature music from her debut studio album "Hunter," which was released June 3 on Epic Records and features original soul tunes.

"I want people to walk away from this album feeling fulfilled," said James of "Hunter." "That's the way it used to be. Often, I think I'm from another time. I just want to bring back the power of the singular legacy voice."

James has also been seen on Broadway in Wonderland and The Addams Family.

Her performance will be followed by back-to-back sets from Irish artist Julie Feeney Sept. 5-6 (7:30 PM and 10 PM).
