PlayBlog Mouse Joins Lend Me a Tenor Cast The starry revival of Ken Ludwig's Lend Me a Tenor had an unexpected on-stage guest during the April 27 performance at the Music Box Theatre.

Early in the first act of the hotel-set farce, actors Tony Shalhoub and Justin Bartha, who portray frenzied manager Saunders and his assistant Max, respectively, were in the midst of a scene when a mouse scurried across the stage.

Audience members spied the critter first, but soon enough Shalhoub and Bartha noticed their new, tiny co-star. Representatives for Tenor tell Playbill.com that Bartha ad-libbed, "I think we have mice," and Shalhoub immediately headed to the on-set telephone and called the hotel's front desk to report the mouse.

Let's hope the opera-singing bellhop also works pest control.
