News Mrs. Meers Meets Mrs. Lovett: Harris to Star in MA Sweeney Todd Tony Award winner Harriet Harris, currently playing a salty secretary in Broadway's Present Laughter, will make meat pies this summer as Mrs. Lovett in Barrington Stage Company's new production of the Tony Award-winning musical Sweeney Todd.

As previously announced, her leading man will be Broadway's Jeff McCarthy (Urinetown, The Pirate Queen). Harris won the Tony for playing Mrs. Meers in the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. She also starred in Cry-Baby on Broadway, among other titles in New York and around the country. Mrs. Lovett will mark Harris' debut at Barrington Stage.

Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's darkly comic musical about revenge will play June 17-July 17 at BSC's Mainstage, 30 Union Street, Pittsfield, MA. Artistic director Julianne Boyd will direct. Opening night will be June 23.

Subscriptions for Barrington Stage's Mainstage 2010 season (Sweeney Todd, Yasmina Reza's Art and Alan Ayckbourn's Absurd Person Singular) are on sale now. Single tickets go on sale March 1.
